Warren and his team were instrumental in advising us on what was “worth it” and what wasn’t when considering finish selections and helping us stay on budget. We were always told, “no matter what you do, you will always wish you had done something differently” when building a custom home. We built our custom home with Warren a couple years ago. Warren was personally involved with building our home every day. He would walk through the house during construction and if he thought something might look better or work better he would just make the changes on the spot. About a year after we moved in, we got the opportunity to buy the lot next to us. Our plan was to put in a pool and a pool house. We immediately contacted Warren. Building a pool house and pool had all the complexity of building a house with additional challenges. The project has to be coordinated with the pool construction and everything has to tie into the existing house architecture, electrical and plumbing systems. Warren was able to again demonstrate his attention to detail and work closely with us to create a fantastic cabana and outdoor living space.
A neighbor recommended Courtland Properties to us. We met Warren and never looked back. He’s a smart, conscientious guy. He has a great reputation, not only with his clients, but with his subcontractors, his suppliers and his lenders. He built us a beautiful, high quality home.

For Warren Smith, family means everything. Memories of growing up among the farmhouses of Pennsylvania and watching his grandfather masterfully carve duck decoys shaped Warren’s desire to become a builder. Inspired by his family heritage, Warren earned a degree in construction science and management from Clemson University, and then went on to found Courtland Homebuilders, which he named after his grandfather.
